UPDATE September 5th - Code is now working. Code to use is GMWGMWA. Put that code into the Group code box on the website.

Soo... it seems that the group code that I was given was not for use on the website (although I was told that it was the right one) but only for use when you call them directly. So I called... on Thursday, and they had left for the day, so I left a voicemail and sent an email. Nothing. So I called again on Friday and it seems the whole sales team were out in San Antonio for the weekend. So I called again on Monday. I was told they would call me or email me with the code, again nothing. So I just talked to someone again and have been promised that I will have the code in my email before the end of the day... so fingers crossed. For anyone who has already booked, you may want to couble check that you got the code (if you booked via the web). If it did not take, email me and I will talk to the hotel.

Group code for the Courtyard on Westpark is GMWC.

10 rooms are guaranteed, but if they have availability, they will honour the rate up until 3 weeks prior to the wedding so GET BOOKING!

Sooo the Marriott West Loop are playing funny games with me, now saying that the group rate of $89 is only valid for Friday and Saturday night, and that it will be $269 a night after that. Little ridiculous if you ask me, but hey, such is life!

The Hilton downtown will offer a rate somewhere between 109 and 139 a night. I should be hearing back with more details on that soon. The Courtyard near Bissonnet (on Westchase) will offer $89 through Saturday and $139 after that. I will continue the search, and have an email out to a bunch of you as to preference, but adding comments here will work just as well... Just want to make sure I get the best deal that works for as many of you as possible. I am looking to get group rates for no more than 2 hotels, so if you have a preference... SPEAK UP SOON!!!

Just an update...Mike is still trying to work out which hotels will not try to scam you when you come to stay in Houston. Each of them has different contracts, and often, official policy is not consistent with what hotel staff have been telling him.

Any time now, we should have more info.

I also hope to finish the invitations this weekend, and we will be working out whose mailing addresses we need.

Called the Marriott West Loop and the Hilton Downtown. Marriott will be sending me an agreement, but should hopefully soon have a promotion code for $89 a night for the duration of the stay (currently planning on the 7th through the 14th).
