Still recovering ... back to normal soon

Sorry to anyone who might still be checking this page, but "real" posts will be rare for another week or so.

Mike and I are almost caught up with getting back to work and integrating all our new fantastic gifts (WOW! We have been bowled over by the generosity of our friends.) into our lives.

After we -do- recover, you can expect to see something done about the many photos we have. No one has quite figured out the logistics, but we want to make sure that if you're in a photo, you get a copy of it. Eventually. Maybe next year. :p

Also, yes, it feels different. Nice.

And yes, Mazziepie (Camila) has fully recovered. She asks you all to keep away in future, too, no matter what Mike and I say.

And finally, no, we have not lost either of our rings. Thanks.

Playlist for the reception

Mister Mike already consulted with the DJ, so whatever songs were graciously suggested have been incorporated already.

Please feel free to suggest more, but just know that those will have a much smaller chance of being actually played at the wedding than any songs that were entered before yesterday.

It has begun, the invasion

Wednesday, BoB, Bridesmaid, and Groomblefam members arrived. Today, several ushers arrived.

One guest's work has taken her away from us (apparently, the company was so desperate to get her to India NOW, in the middle of Diwali, that it was worth a $12,000 plane ticket).

Thank goodness the weather is cool, if not unhumid. We don't like our foreigners and out-of-towners to melt. Not a pretty sight.

Mike and his uncles went golfing at Memorial today, and BoB and the women spent time in the Galleria, managing to meet for a lunch at the food court's Ninfa's. A little more running around later, and parents' gifts are all taken care of.

Now, on to a steak dinner!

"This time next week..."

MoG prompted from the top of the stairs after Sunday dinner (instead of the usual "See you next week!").

At the bottom of the stairs, Mister Mike and I stopped putting on our shoes.

"Yeeks!" I said. "This time next week, I'll be related to you!"

"Yeah," Mike said. "And we'll all still be partying!"

(inhale, exhale. repeat.)

Website Issues

We having been having issues with the website this weekend. It seems to be working now, so if you have been unable to post a reponse to the invitations or check out hotels or registry info, or just to browse the website... I can only apologise, and hope that it does not happen again. I am waiting on a response from the hosting company on why it happened and what they are doing to make sure it does not happen in the future. Lets see what they say.

Playlist....

Playlist page updated to allow you to let us know if you have a preference as to when to play the song (leave it blank if you don't care) and to add a description of why the song is important to you.

Nyah nyah. I crashed the RSVP function...

But Mister Mike is a genius! How?

While entering mailed-in replies, I entered a "decline."

Well, I'm sure it's much more complicated than that. I mean, other people have declined just fine. Regardless, I'm sure he'll have it fixed tonight. He's just not online now for me to tell him.

Just a warning to those who have not replied: You want to say you'll come, if you don't want to reboot your computer. (just kidding)

Wah ha ha haaaaa...

Response Functionality...

Is now online!

Have at it... and please let me know of any errors, and how you managed to cause them (I am sure some of you will be able to break it!)

If you have sent, or plan on sending in the response card, you don't need to reply online as well. I will be tracking the responses through the website, but will (and have for those already received) updated the online portion. ACK... you probably don't want to know all this so I shall shut up and get back to work now!

Yeah, buddy. It's for real now.

The first three replies-by-mail arrived yesterday.

That is SO fast.

Bring on DE TUNES!!!

The invitation response functionality will follow behind shortly, but in the interim the playlist functionality is now working (I hope!). I have tested it, and added a couple of tracks, and it all seems to work. If you have any issues, please let me know so that I can try to rectify the issue.

A little choked up from reading...

Sherwin sent me to this column this morning, and I admit that, despite the occasional "maudlinity," I really liked the piece.
